The vast Côtes du Roussillon wine region stretches throughout the Pyrénées-Orientales, while the Côtes du Roussillon Villages is more specifically our valley, the Agly valley. The land is made up of granite and gneissic soil, brown and black schist and calcareous red soil. The PDO for white, red and rose wine is Cotes du Roussillon, but Côtes du Roussillon Villages only applies to red wine.
