30 minutes from Perpignan, because of the beautiful scenery and the many activities on offer the Agly lake is one of the local sights simply not to be missed.

The lake is actually a man made reservoir that covers an area of 170 hectares over four local village communes (parishes) : Caramany, Trilla, Ansignan et Cassagnes. It was firstly put into use in 1994 after 4 years of construction. While it serves as a huge stock of drinking water for the regions population it is also appreciated for its naturally wild and beautiful surroundings particularly the vines and green oaks trees of the Fenouillèdes.

Lake fishing

The Agly lake is renowned to be one of the best fishing lakes in the region and the only lake that allows fishing from boats. Many paths to individual fishing spots have cut out and set aside for coarse fishing (carp, perch, pike etc) Night fishing and ‘No Kill’ fishing is permitted.
